Leytonstone (Midland) Wagon hoist.

This hoist is more suitable for a small goods yard than the more common type dropping through a hole in a viaduct to the arches below.

This one was once at the Midland Railway station at Leytonstone in East London. The site can still be seen today from the platforms and from ground level where a builders yard now occupies the former goods yard.

This photograph appeared in a very interesting article by Bob Essery in Model Railways, October 1993.
